vantage score ok?

4870 is supposed to be close to a 280 is it not?
My 280's getting just shy of 14K, and my CPU is only 3.5GHz.
Does vantage actually use more than 2 threads?
That might explain it, with his CPU being only dual core.

It sounds about right. There is a debate that phyxs drivers boost the scores of vantage for nvidia based cards.
But I wouldn't pay too much attention to the vantage score. Real world gaming shows the 4870 is more or less on par with the 280 in certain games. And in others it's not.
But as long as the OP enjoys the card and it does everythng he hoped for then there is no problem.
If vantage scores were truly accurate then my score of 14.6k would mean it's nearly twice as fast as my 4870 when it is nowhere near that. Ignore vantage enjoy gaming.
