Hi,is there anyway to get smartguardian working with Vapochill LS? In bios temps are shown as -42c & in smartguardian they are shown as 223c with temps this high i wouldn't be typing this message now :p .Just wondering if any one else has had this problem & any solution to put it right.

Thanks Amidar

under a vapo?

I'd go upto 1.65v, BUT the vapo prob wont do a good job of that load -dual cores will kick out some heat.

1.6v is probably gonna get you well into 3ghz i would have thought. Might not even have to go that high. I found 1.55v is a nice voltage sometimes under phase.

They read them fine. Just the SmartGuardian software was programmed by people who thought the temps never went negative, hence -10 = 245 on there (they used values from 0 - 255).

mbm5, core temp, everest etc will all read negative temps fine.

Cheers guys, does this sound right my 4800 X2 is showing -28 in bio's at standard clocks?,i know the display on the Vapochill displays the gas's actual temp.

Thanks again, one more question :) when i switch the pc off the Vapochill still has power going to it(I know it should).Does this mean the heaters are still on? and if so should i leave it like this for a while before switching all power off & i'm only using the pc for 4-5 hours a day.

When you shut down the PC the vapo should turn off.there wont be any power to the heaters or anything like that. It'll basically be in standby until you power it up again.

theres no harm leaving it like that at all. If you wanna save a millionth of a watt each month you can turn it off at the wall but that will only turn off the LED :p

Hi
sorry to hijack this thread, but I'm thinking ditching my water-cooling rig and going for one of these with a Conroe cpu.
just a couple of questions how loud are they and can you run them 24/7?
Many thanks,
Martin

Like sitting next to a coke machine :D

Not something a could leave on 24/7,most of the noise is from the compressor. The fans are ok as you can adjust the speed by using the control panel in windows. If you do get an LS and want to run 24/7 your best replacing the compressor with a Danfoss NL11F which is a lot quieter.

They are about as loud as noisy air cooling, they arent silent by any stretch but they can be quite quiet.

Can run them 24/7 yea as long as you follow the instructions and set it up properly.
What type are you going for, vapo or mach? or custom unit

Hi
Thanks for the reply's, thinking about going for a custom or a Chilly 1, there are a couple from the same person on a well known auction site which are catching by eye,, , now I'm more concerned about the condensation issues! as my current w/c pc is on 24/7..

id try to avoid him, there are various concerns on a phasechange forum about his skill and competence

if you find Gray Mole on these forums, shoot him a email, he can probs build something to your exact needs (ie use a different quieter compressor and so on) :)

hope that helps
