as per my sig, vapor x 5770. basically if i touch an overclock no matter how small, using CCC, i end up with 'flashy squares' (artifacts i believe is the term?) and such and screen freeze ups. i'm of the understanding that vapor x cards were great for oc'ing, have i just been unlucky with my particualr card or am i doing summat wrong?

i had to go change mine from the oc version to the normal version for the same reason....ive had 3 days now without a problem...like i had with the oc version for 3 weeks......so if i was you i would rma it and get the normal version one. mine was the 5870 though but same problems.

I had a 4850 that was the same. It was 100% stable at stock clocks but a small increase would reduce FPS and cause stuttering. If I overclocked any further, games would freeze/crash.

I had the same issue. Strangely, uninstalling all the CCC stuff, and letting windows install the drivers, and only windows, its seems stable. Not sure how to overclock then though :)

Mind my 5770XXX is 875/1300 - and seems quick enough for me :)

just a note to my original post, since installing 10.4 drivers i've been able to get to 900/1350 and thus far no problems. was higher 920/1400, ran furmark for 20mins, no problems and temps sat at 65-69 degrees max. however 5 mins of bfbc2 and it froze up on me :(

is it common for driver updates to add stability to overclocking ability or is there possibly something else at play here?
