Vapor-x or not?

Hi, i'm thinking about buying 2 x vapor-x HD 5870s for crossfire. Would it be better to wait for a vapor-x HD 5970?

depends if you can fit the 5970 in your case, check some reviews for the 5870 in crossfire against the 5970..

I wouldn't of thought there'd be any problems fitting in my case, i have an Antec p183.

the vapor-x doesn't exhaust heat out the back....I would not recommend them for xfire

Would'nt touch vapour-X, not worth the extra premium in my opinion. Just an excuse for retailors to make even more money out of us.

Doesn't the 5970 have some sort of vapour-chamber cooling system anyway? I thought it was mentioned on the ATI slides...

The 5970 does but the 5870 does not.

However the primary VRMS are not under the vapor chamber on the 5970

The Vapour-X usually win on quietness but as mentioned before they don't tend to vent hot air very well. I suppose its down to preference; if you are buying such leet kit your case must have great airflow anyway.

£122 premium for 2x vapour-X! It's not worth it mate. The standard fan is very quiet as they run so cool compared to previous cards.
