Varifocal Lenses + VR Headsets

Ive invested in some VR lenses for my Reverb G2 for my prescription.

They have not worked, so I am keen to get a steer from someone who perhaps shares the same challenge and has resolved it.

Happy spend what it takes to get the correct solution and also happy to visit any opticians who might specialise in this area.

That is what I did, but it wasn't working for me. Now it could mean my prescription has changed of course and I do need to check that.
 
I recently was prescribed varifocals, I deliberately bought a second pair of distance glasses for my Quest 3 at the same time, they were half price. I find they work perfectly and am very happy with the results. Furthermore, I also asked for my IPD measurement, which was 2mm different from the phone app that I used.

How is your eyesight between 1.5 metres and 2.5 metres? If your vision is good at those distances, then you might not need lenses at all.

Varifocal lenses won't work. The focal distance in a VR headset is around 1.5m.

So EVERYTHING that you're looking at, at whatever distance in VR, is the equivalent of 1.5m away.

So you need whatever the prescription is for viewing things 1.5m away, so the distance part of your prescription rather than the reading prescription.

I do need lenses, my eyesight is that of a 56 year old wearing glasses since my mid 20's.

I have tried without lenses and its blur fest.

I took the distance part of my prescription but suspect the issue is that has changed.

Will go see my optician and get a better view of current prescription.
