I'd presume he used a remote-release, with his camera set to bulb exposure so he could hold the shutter open for as long as needed to capture the fireworks. The tricky part in that case is exposing the background correctly without blowing out the fireworks, so I may be wrong

i understand you put it on bulb, but what iso and aperture did you use? also how lond did you expose for?

ISO 100 f8 and changed the exposure from 1.6sec to around 8sec
