Various Problems

I seem to have various problems that came out of nowhere. My first thought was a virus so I ran full scans using both microsoft security essentials and malwarebytes.

1. No sound. It was working perfectly fine earlier. Speakers and headphones both produce none whatsoever. I checked the system sound settings and it's not on mute.

2. Action centre reports MSE and Windows defender are turned off when I first boot up. MSE has always ran on startup for me until now. I checked msconfig and it is still in the startup tab.

3. MSE will not update due to an "internet or network connectivity issue.". It won't let me uninstall it either.

4. When I try to run iTunes I get the error "The software required for communicating with iPods and mobiles phones was not installed correctly."

5. System restore "does not appear to be functioning correctly on this system".

It's screaming virus at me but all scans are clean. Any ideas?

try safe mode, and scan from there, I had issues after my lad clicked a picture link in google

All clean. I managed to uninstall MSE manually but now it won't let me install again.

Edit: Issued resolved mostly now.

Someone ( I suspect my Sister ) installed some ridiculous toolbar the other day and when uninstalled via Revo Uninstaller it took off about 1600 registry entries. I restored the backup and everything seems to work now. The only problem is MSE still won't install as it says it already exists and the lame toolbar is back.
