Hi guys,

Ive been fixing my girls 2002 Astra over the past few days, it started with turning off and giving the engine management light, after pluggin in the diagnostics machine it gave 2 error codes, both pointing to the EDU that controlls the fuel pump.

After getting all that sorted with help from the internet, the car is now back on the road and working mighty fine again. Now what happened during getting it fixed my brother removed the ECU ontop of the engine, as some forums said pin corrosion can cause this problem, now when the car is on it wont turn the radio on at all,but there is a power light on it, its not the genuine astra radio and some jvc replacement, im thinking since removing the ECU the radio will need recoded again.

Is this correct? and is there a way to do it with a 3rd party radio?

Thanks guys
Chris

Have you checked the connection behind the headunit they might have come loose, as for coding 3rd party headunit's don't usually have any coding.
