Hi all

Today I got a virus VBS:Banker-EA [trj] in system32. How do I get rid off it. I scanned the PC after 3 times with avast and malwarebytes and it shows that the computer is safe but I want to make sure that the virus is really gone

Using SpyHunter it showed my that I have 264 files infected, but as I have the free version I can't fix it. Is there any way to solve it, need fast reply

I'd have less trust in Spyhunter as it's previously been flagged at Bleepingcomputer as rogue anti-spyware software flagging loads of false infections in an attempt to get you to buy the program.

Spyhunter is junk that trys to scam the people that don't understand computers. No one should ever use this.

To be honest, I wouldn't have much trust in it now and would be looking at wiping and reloading.

Every infection can be removed from a system there is always a way. There is no need to reinstall a system every time you get an infection. Just need to use the right tools and check what is running and make sure not to install the program that infected you again or make sure your virus checker is working. Virus checkers are never 100% reliable and things will pass them that are not safe.

The only infections that become a right pain and require more urgent actions are the ones that alter the BIOS, Firmware on devices eg hard drives , VBIOS on your graphics card etc, they will auto reinstall no matter how many times you reinstall the OS. This requires the BIOS and firmware to be flashed with a known good source to clear it.
