vBulletin new thread notification

Hi chaps bit of an odd question, but I was wondering if there was a way to get an instant notification by email when a new thread is created in a particular forum or sub forum on a vBulletin type forum like this one. Like when you get instant notification when a new reply is added in a thread but for when a new thread is added in a forum or sub forum.

Closest I have got is Forum Tools> Subscribe to This Forum > daily updates by email. unfortunately daily updates are not fast enough

Reason I'm after this is because I'm on a car enthusiasts forum and it would be cool to get an instant notification when an member posts a new thread up in the classifieds section. I simply cannot understand how some people read a new thread so quickly and manage to put dibs down on an item for sale, they must have a trick up there sleeve

Like I say its an odd question but someone may know a solution

maybe setup something with RSS

The people who post up "dibs" are probably refreshing the forum almost 24/7!

Else - RSS might be a good option - most vB forums will allow you to do an RSS feed.

Hi chaps, the forum supports RSS and it will allow me to subscribe to the main bulletin board page and pretty much any sub forum bar the classifieds. Its almost like the RSS option is there, but there is no feed being streamed from the specific classifieds section

Both IE and Mozilla's built in RSS plugin don't seen to be able to retrieve a feed, its quite odd, possibly blocked maybe?

Ahh, it might be that if the classifieds require you to be logged in to view - the RSS feed won't support that authentication, hence no feed...

I'm logged in, but this year I'm not a fully paid member with all the privileges, perhaps this could be why I cant get RSS feeds from the classified section, dunno if that's why.
Ah well no worries, just thought I'd ask as I'm not to up on these things.
