Does anyone know if there is a way to jump to a particular post in a thread?

I know you can "view single post", but I mean if a user clicks a link they are taken to a specific point in the thread, and can still scroll up/down to view the rest of the thread.

I want to link to a post in the thread, not look at a single post.

Hm, I just realised those links open in a new tab/window..... Is there a way to make them open in the same one?

On a forum which I moderate, if I click on the #Postnumber on each post it jumps straight to that and creates a url like this:
http://www.forumname.com/forum/23789-thread-title.html#post264729
And you can still scroll etc. I think it uses a mod but not sure, I can try and find out if you want.
