Presumably - some CPU batches (within weeks) are just better than others ?

my friend and I have similar batch E6600s ..

both are REALLY Vcore hungry ... mine needs 1.4875V in bios setting to be stable at just a shade under 3.2 gig ..

this seems VERY high ? Presume its just luck of the draw ?

I get about 58C max load (TAT) @ 1.4875V at this overclock, which is not great, but could be worse

:(

Mark.

there is a undervolt issue with the p5b, in the bios i had mine set to 1.325v (e6300) but cpuz reported it as 1.220v

went in to the bios again, upped my vcore to 1.365v and after than cpuz and the asus proggy reports it as 1.323v << as close as ill get to 1.325v

20c idle! take it your using water?

I use Zalman 9500 on automatic control ;)

I have tried core temp(meant to read from core) and speedfan(uses asus probe)

22-24C idle most of the time :)

May be worth noting my system is set to drop to 2ghz on idle and 3ghz under load with speedstep :) it DOES reduce my idle temp
