Hi guys

I know this sounds a dumb question and probably is.

Is there a way to lower vcore without lowering vcore itself by using another setting ?

The reason i ask is that i have hit a speed that is using 1.4 vcore and i know the highest recommended is 1.38 so i want to bring this down a bit to the 1.38 mark but not by lowering the vcore itself. Im using the offset mode on the Asus P8P67 Pro with an offset of + 0.030

Many thanks.

The vcore will drop to >1v (usually 0.9v) using Offset and SpeedStep, so at 1.4 under full load (i.e. Prime95) I would imagine you're very safe.

If you use a lower Load Line Calibration, you will also get a larger vcore drop under load, which could get it back to 1.38.

Im at 4.8Ghz 12 hours straight at the moment with load line calibration set to "Ultra high" and Vcore still at Auto offset + 0.030.

Its showing in CPUz a vcore of 1.40 at the highest it goes to 1.408 and yes thats on prime 95 :). I do have speed step enabled so it will drop down when i stop prime95.

Do you think these settings are fine for 24/7 use ?

To lower the vcore try a combination of increasing the offset to say 0.040 and reducing the LLC to high. It will be a case of trial and error untill you get the right combination to reach the load vcore you require.

Having boot issues doing it since i restarted so tweaking a few settings and having ago but doubt im going to bring vcore down to recommended settings :/

What are your temps at idle & load?
