O'cing my AMD 64 3700+ Claw

Up to 2700 ( 225 x 12 ) at moment on air , temps 56c

Using MBM 5 to monitor temps/voltages etc.

When Vcore is set to 1.595 v in Bios ( DFI lanparty nf3 250gb )
this fluctuates to around 1.63/65 at testing in Super PI.

Is this normal to fluctuate ( i.e within the PSU 's 5% tolerance ) or should the vcore be rock solid and stable at 1.595 when set ?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

It's most likely pretty solid.

I've found motherboards to be really bad at reporting voltages.

Check with a multimeter if you can find out where to measure Vcore from.

May as well check the PSU lines too and see how much different they are than the mobo is reporting.

i cant comment on the DFI but you should try using a ASUS P4C800 1.55-1.65 after gaming using the high/low on mbm5

that was until i droop modded it :)

Yes, that's fine.

I personally would push volts as far as I could on air because you will more likely be limited by temps before you are with volts.

I don't find the AMD64 E revision benefits beyond ~ 1.6v anyway.

Check out dfi street forums, google is your friend

Everywhere I've found agrees with my findings of ~ 0.02v over when load.

I agree.

my board is pretty much spot on, but never undervolts.

google = friend

MultiMeter > google ;)

i think the dfi undervolts/overvolts depending which method you choose to do it by in the bios.

my Ultra D tends to undervolt... If i set it to 1.5V in the bios, restart, go back into the bios or load CPU Z in Windows and it reads 1.45V

My board overvolts when under load (I previously thought it was the PSU's fault) but I put 1.7V through my claw at one point. It gave a 100mhz jump compared to 1.65V but temps were hitting 58C load and mobo monitor was showing a Vcore of 1.75.

Absolute MAX temp for a 3700 Claw is 70C acording to the AMD website but I wouldn't like to test that with my equipment.

Whereabouts do I measure from to find the voltage?
