VDDC Offset on my 6950?

Hi guys,

Looking for some guidance here.

I have got my 6950 o/ced at 880/1375 on 1.175 volts (6970 clocks, essentially) and everything is running fine.

In MSI Afterburner I can see the idle clocks (159/250), idle volts (0.9) along with 3d clocks and volts (as stated above).

What is confusing me, however, is that in GPU-Z I have a VDDC Offset being reported at 1.200 volts, a value which doesn't fluctuate regardless of what MSI Afterburner is saying.

I've simulated load and idle states of the card and done my best to show you guys my settings in the picture below...

My ultimate question is whether this is a standard thing among 6950's? Am I at risk of damaging the card? What is VDDC Offset?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

You wouldnt be running dual monitors would you or monitor + HDTV ? if you are 3D voltages will always be engaged even if your running at 2D clocks....
i have yet to figure out a way to engage 2D + 2D voltages when running 2 monitors.....

No, just running the single 1920x1200 monitor at 60hz.

To me it seems like the card is correctly moving between 2D clocks and 3D clocks, as reported by both MSI AB and GPU-Z.

The confusion comes in when you look at the core voltage in MSI AB, which is as expected - it's the voltage set for my o/c and you can see a lower voltage kicking in.

This is why I'm so confused about GPU-Z's 'VDDC Offset' value and why it's so strange. Setting the card back to stock setting (850/1350 due to being Twin Frozr III) the VDDC seems to remain constant in GPU-Z.

Does anyone else have any idea that could help me? It's really starting to bug me and I don't want to risk any issues with my card later in life because I couldn't get to the bottom of this.

Thanks!
