Looking to combine the ECI box and Huwai offering currently being used by Plus net and move to a single unit with better wifi (house is an old cottage with thick walls). Anything other than Net gear and Draytek that I should be looking at?

Cheers.

Keeping the modem allows for a much wider selection of routers. Unless you're desperate to have a single unit I'd just replace the router (the one provided by plusnet is very basic).

Some idea of budget and any specific requirements would help with any recommendations. Even just asking for wireless-ac is fairly non-specific.

Take a look at the Asus DSL-68U. Sure the WiFi will be better than the Plus Net offering. Depending on where the router is situated and how thick the walls are, and number of them WiFi maybe limited. In that case power line adapters maybe a better option, in that case quality of the internal cable could come into it.

the router is riddled with issues for most but not all people.
its quite fine on my line :) and the only reason im selling it is to get a even higher end router only :)

Thanks guys, I'd prefer not to get a unit that may be a pure gamble. At the moment the best I've seen is the D7000 for £164,so that's my top choice...
