Hi all,

OSR wheel bearing on my Prelude is on its way out. They come as a complete kit with hub, for which Honda want £300 plus fitting.

There are 3rd party versions by VECO, SKF and First Line for a little under a hundred quid on ebay, just wondered if anyone had any opinions as to whether one make was better or to be avoided? Any better alternatives around that price point?

Cheers,
Tom

I've used SKF bike bearings in both my super bike and my mountain bike with no worries at all. They are an acknowledged bearing manufacturer and also supply their products to main car and bike manufacturers for use during production. The other two companies kit I've not used but SKF are certainly of excellent quality.

SKF is the largest bearing supplier in the world, and are OEM supplier to a lot of other companies. Sadly the Chinese etc. have already jumped on this gravy train and are peddling fakes with SKF packaging, so get them from a reputable supplier.

Righto.

Next question... worth getting the other side done at the same time, or wait and see if/when it goes? Not sure if I'd save much on fitting costs getting both done at once.

No harm in doing so although I have never had more than one wheel bearing fail on a car during my ownership, probably unnecessary.
