Vector and photoshop

Hi know that illustrator is better for creating vector graphics

but how do you know when you make something in photoshop if it is vector or not.. ?

if i type some text and put a box around it, how would i know if that is vector or not

Vector graphics by my definition are those that can be scaled without losing quality or sharpness.

Vector art is different.

You can really only create vector graphics from scratch using the pen tool in photoshop.

Just output as a Photoshop EPS/PDF. Should keep it vector if you don't use faux bold or italic. Ofcourse don't rasterise the text

Photoshop isn't a vector program, nothing you do in it will really be a vector, the background colour etc. will be raster based. You need to use Illustrator or a similar vector based program and then, when you save the piece out you need to make sure its saved in a vector file format such as a .eps.
