I've got a Vectra SRi with the V6 diesel.

It's ok, and does the job for long motorway journeys with loads of stuff in the car. If I'd had more money to spend on a Vauxhall I'd definitely have got an Insignia though.

What I really fancied was an Octavia vRS, but they were way over budget

Insignia way nicer, i'd have one over a Mondeo too. Worth the extra over the vectra which feels quite old and basic by modern standards.

7k on a Vectra, that's just sheer lunacy, 2k on one, yes maybe, but no way on earth is it a wise move to spend so much on such an old car when so much more is availbale for the money.

Mondeo, is the better car, aslong as you get a titanium spec, also look at the Accord,Mazda 6 and Skoda Superb. Far superior cars than the Insignia.

The Insignia is a massive improvement - the Vectra is a terrible car. Taking finance to buy a £4k Vectra sounds like a complete nightmare scenario. Don't finance old crap cars.

If you really want to use finance, take it on an Insignia. Infact use a bank loan, you'll get a much better rate anyway on that amount.

Asking for buying advice on a Vauxhall on OcUK Motors is akin to asking a shoal of Piranhas if they would prefer a lettuce or an elephant for dinner.

Don't drop £7k on a Vectra, it's lunacy.

Insignias are shocking on fuel consumption even doing motorway miles, I'm lucky to get 55 mpg with my 160sri and that's doing 65-70

My dad hired a insignia, it was dull as ditchwater and extremly boring. One day was enough to make sure he'd never buy one.

MPG was also pretty dire.

I had an Insignia as a hire car and it was ok. Rode comfortably, well equipped and lots of space. I found the seat a bit uncomfortable thoe.

The Insignia is a huge improvement over the Vectra but I still think it's a bit behind the Mondeo in terms of cabin quality, ergonomics and comfort especially the seats.

Having taxied a vectra and having use of my old mans insignia I would suggest buying a mondeo

Do not for the love of god drop 7k on a vectra

If you must buy either of them get the insignia but you really woul be better off with a mondy
