VED for Roads again?

I haven't. I've ignored the announcement from that media outlet as it's written by an obvious fool.

He is using a term that many understand even though it is incorrect "The news that all Vehicle Excise Duty, or road tax, will be spent " hence the use of lower case as a descriptor rather than a noun.

Highways England aren't even responsible for the local council roads that are suffering the most. Local government budgets have been squeezed because they've lost billions (£15.7bn lost 2010 through to 2020) in central government funding. They better get some of that money so they can afford to fix the potholes instead of having to decide between potholes or adult social care.

The current government is basically trying to solve a problem they created through austerity.

Absolutely, 100% agree.
