With all the news and reviews claiming the latest and greatest with regards to the 2060RTX, is the hype worth the switch from a Vega 56? Only thing that bothers me is dropping from 8GB to 6GB, what do you guys think?

I editted my post above with a video showing the results.

Will be keep the Vega for awhile longer by the seems of it, hate to drop performance especially when it's maxing out everything at 1440p at the present. I'll be allocating my funds to a 1TB SSD, the search continues!

No, Vega 56 is faster by a decent margin if you have tweaked it. It also has 8gb of ram so switching to a 2060 would be madness. Here is a decent video with all 3 cards tweaked to get the best from them.

That video does demonstrate just how little there is between a properly set up 56 and a 64. There is so little juice left in the tank for 64 oc that a well set up 56 is little more than four percent away in the 1440p BF V benchmark.

Yea 1440p is the sweet spot for Vega 56/64. The 2060 also seems to suffer on min frame rates which could effect game play a lot.

I don't really think that Vega 64 is boosting to 1700, either that or the Vega 56 is boosting way above 1500. I have benched my Vega at 1650 and it seems to beat out Vega 56 pretty easy in those games. It's usually around 10% or more. This is what i typically see. This is from the Strange Brigade Benchmark. My 64 was set to 1700/1100 but was holding pretty much 1650 most of the time.

My main game at the moment, not a single hitch in this game... well apart from the servers sometimes.

Nope. Side-grade at best and with the disadvantage of less vram would also mean the 2060 would need to turn down graphic setting, particularly texture details sooner than the Vega56 does.

Save your cash and wait till AMD and Nvidia bringing new GPU architecture on 7nm first before thinking about upgrading again. Don't chuck away your cash meaninglessly.

If I had a v56 I certainly wouldn't swap for a 2060!! Keep and enjoy it man

That's my plan and have put my funds now elsewhere.

Vega 56 is faster stock for stock.
Vega 56 is faster overclocked and undervolt VS overclocked.
Vega 56 has 8G vs 6G
Vega 56 has more memory bandwidth
Vega 56 supports all free sync monitors not just some
Vega 56 cost less
Vega 56 comes with more games.

It really is a slam dunk!
Or grab a Vega 64 from £389.99 !

AMD are totally owning the sub £500 bracket at the moment!

Vega 64 @ £400
Vega 56 @ £320
RX 590 @ £250
RX 580 @ £200
RX 570 @ £150

All with 8G, winning every price segment for performance and value for money in my opinion.

As you have a Vega 56 stick with it and save your money!
