Vega driver issues!

Morning folks.

Decided in my infinite wisdom to do a full reinstall yesterday.

One large problem- I can't install AMD Adrenalin software. The PC bluescreens as soon as the installer begins updating the driver. Led to three bootloops and start-agains yesterday.

Everything is back at stock in the BIOS, and Windows is as updated as it can be. The card is running (and reporting Vega driver in device manager, managed to use third-party driver update software to get away from Windows default drivers!), and I'm getting good performance from it, but no Wattman or Freesync as I can't install the software package.

It has been working absolutely fine until now. I tried 18.1.11 and a couple of older ones with the same result.

Help!

System in sig, PSU is an XFX XTR 850W

Driver Booster from iobit. It updated the Windows standard VGA driver to a Vega-specific one. The AMD installer couldn't get that far.

Anyway, all stop, as it's decided to go into a blue-screen bootloop again... It seems I now can't do anything...

Ok, got a result in the end. Seems I needed to wait 4 hours for a particular Windows update to sort its life out first... Also ran everything so slowly it was like a bin lorry reversing up a narrow street. I'm guessing the former made more difference than the latter...

Anyway, I am up and running again. Happy days! :D
