So yet again i've been forced to go to CES and im here in vegas staying in a CSI filmset called Circus Circus, more precisely some kind of outhouse they normally rent by the hour that is a 10minute walk form the lobby through the dungeons and garbage disposal. Condoms and needles in the parking lot, what looks like blood stain on the carpet, minute bathroom, all for the princely sum of $250 a night. Of course upon finding our rooms we complained immediately and were told we can have the room or rent an RV and sleep in the parking lot...

A quick search shows no other hotel rooms for less than $300-600 a night minimum so we will probably have to stick it out and hope we dont get raped or murdered. At least we are a 15 minute walk from CES, once you walked 10 minutes through the sewers and rat-infested basement carpark. Oh, did i say it is pouring with rain!

Oh how I hate Vegas. Next year I will just top myself if I have to get sent out here again. :(

I can find at least 10 places to stay for under £300 for the next two nights, many of which are decent hotels, like Flamingo & Harrahs.

I stayed in Circus Circus for a couple of nights when I was in Vegas a few years ago. Granted its no MGM but its perfectly fine for getting your head down and having a wash/shower.

Which is about double his budget. His prices were in $ so I guess he can't spend more than $250 which he's paying now

Vegas is great until you step outside the main strip and realise that pretty much anyone living there is an addict of some description.

Note - I am not saying that absolutely everyone who lives there is an addict, but from my experience of my time there, it was certainly a large selection of crazy.

I still remember leaving it too late to book a decent room in San Antonio once on a trip to visit the Alamo..we ended up in a holiday inn and it was straight out of a US cop show

open decks to your rooms, people sat outside on the walkways on plastic chairs, pool in the middle of the complex, I fully expected them to be a fishing my body out in the morning, or to walk into my room and see a white body outline on the floor!

first thing I do now is make sure all the accommodation is booked well in advance!!

 there are loads of nice places to stay in Vegas for cheaper than that. Just go somewhere further and get the bus to CES (which are fairly cheap, especially if you get the day/week trip cards) or taxi if you have the money.
