' Help please. I SORN’d my vehicle about a year ago. Today I get a letter off dvla stating my vehicle is being used whilst it is SORN’d,, which is totally untrue because it won’t move as the battery is dead and can be seen with rust on the brake discs. The parking space is divided with a row of bricks from the road and I live in a cul-de-sac. (I will try to add a picture for you to see). I live in a housing assosiation too. So my question is, is this classed as a parking spot or part of the road if it’s got brick dividers separating it from the road?
I had a car lifted once about 12 years ago when it was SORN’d in a parking space over the road. When I told them they can’t take it coz it is SORN’d they said they can coz it hadn’t got a line of bricks seperating it from the main road thus being a bublic highway and not a separate parking area. This is why I made sure it had a partitioned area so I wouldn’t get caught out, but the DVLA seem to have sent this out. Any help would be gratefully received thanks
Ps.. does anyone know how to insert a picture on here from my photo album please?

Sounds more like someone may have cloned your plates
i thought this too but why clone plate of a sorned car? either way dvla should be able to provide some evidence of where it was last used.
wont be the first time dvla van with cameras has clocked a numberplate on someones driveway and issued out fines.

The line of bricks is irrelevant; anyone can put some bricks on the ground, it doesn't suddenly prevent it from being part of the road. Is the car on private land or not? (if it's a public parking bay at the side of the road then it's still part of the road)
