Steam said:
Inspired by the fascinating story and unbreakable spirit of British secret agent Violette Szabo, players take control of Violette Summer, a beautiful World War II spy deep behind enemy lines with no support or official backing from the British Government. Intense stealth action game play with a startling real-time lighting system and surreal visuals combine to produce an incredible gaming experience. Through third person game play, sneak up on enemies and pull the pins from their belted grenades. Infiltrate a Gestapo prison and slip cyanide to your own men before the Germans make them talk. And slink through the shadows to finish off your unsuspecting enemies with a single, silent move. Through Violette's fever dreams, experience what she experienced. Walk where she walked. And kill those she killed.

Stealth assasinations – Execute over 50 different brutal maneuvers to deliver a quick and silent death to enemy soldiers or use the environment itself to take down Violette's foes.
Dynamic lighting and shadows – Slip into the darkness of Nazi-controlled Europe and avoid the relentless searchlights of German guards that cut through your shadowy cover.
Stylized environments - Explore surreal, dreamlike settings that are modeled after actual World War II locations.
Unique perspective - Experience the unimaginable horrors of war through Violette’s fever dreams. Shift into Morphine Mode when Violette’s memories betray her to reposition and gain an advantage against opposing forces.

Looks like it's out today according to Steam - here's hoping for a decent price!

On the actual link on the right it does say Release Date: 31 March 2009. I wouldn't bet on it though. It does look a really nice game it's something I've kept an eye on for a while and would be interested to see how good it actually is!

Hmm from name alone I was expecting a sexy assasin game :p

Still....nazis, killing and gore....not too shabby I suppose.

Sounds interesting and the trailer looks good but surely they'd have made a fuss about it before now if it was coming out today!

In fact, googling finds this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabotage_(video_game)

which says "released on 14 April 2009 in the United States and 8 May 2009 in Europe" but doesn't mention Steam at all.

If thats the game im thinking of that was going to come out on xbox 360, something about a race car driver fighting nazis or something :P It was gonna be a GTA style game, where the european towns were in black and white and became more colorful as you finished missions in some sort of strange nod to schindlers list.

I'm a bit sceptical about the "fever dream" stuff, sounds a bit assasins creed-ish, and I'll take a bit of convincing that its a good thing.

PK!

Looks like Steam/GMG changed their minds..

The game is no longer in the 'New Releases' section, and no longer has a release date mentioned.

:(

Its rubbish. (by this i mean i dont like it. its too 'slow' and boring) dont get me wrong i loved/love the thief games this isnt the same...
goes to install thief 3

I watched the trailers and gameplay vids, it looks jumpy?

My PC is badass so I'm sure it's up to the task but I dunno if the game coding is decent?

On another forum, someone mentioned the first level (after all the cutscene intro vids) opened like this...

You parachute into some dense woodland/jungle. The first task is to recover your small backpack which just happened to come away from you mid air and landed in a tree on your way down.

The first person to guess what other game the above mimics gets a cookie :)

It is jumpy, even at 50fps it seems to sort of jump. Whereas crysis in parts ran at 15fps and didnt seem jumpy, just slow
