Ventrilo probs

I have no idea if this is the right place for this thread, but it seemed reasonable at the time...

I have recently purchased a sennheiser pc130 headset, which works great in windows hardware test and skype, BUT, doesnt seem to work with ventrilo. As far as I can tell, all my setup details are the same as the other people, but all they hear is my in-game sound/music etc, whenever I hit the 'press to talk' button. ie instead of my input, they hear my output. Yes, the mic is in the pink, and the speakers/headset speakers are in the green.

Sooo, does anyone that is knowledgable about these things have access to a TS/ventrilo server? and could I then waste some of your time troubleshooting?

I just d/l'd teamspeak+ server, but have no idea what i'm doing tbh. If I could get TS working, then maybe I could convince the corp to move to TS just for me :rolleyes:

, otherwise, a functioning ventrilo would be preferable.

in some sort of, damn, beer making me forget the word ...ahh, pre-emptive(!) move, here is my screen grab of the common vent setup

abit av8 (or a8v i never remember which way round) (via kt800 iirc)
amd 3800x2
2x512mb geil ultra dual chan
leadtek 6800
xp pro sp2

dont you just need to change the line to Microphone instead of stereo mix?

It was working at one point, I dont know how that field changed, I'm sure I didnt go medling.

glad its been fixed for you, ive always preferred Ventrilo over teamspeak .

yeh vent has habbits of changing stuff for you. I run both new and old vents at the same time and its constantly forgetting my admin pass for one, chan passwords for the other and even tho both are set to use different talk buttons they always revert to the same.

Nevermind tho, as long as its sorted.
