Sorry for spaming the forum tonight. Not intentional.
Somone has given a USB hard drive that they use for backups with veritas backup. this is the senario:
2x USB drives one called week 1, the other week 2
Full backups every evening 8pm
on the 19th September (friday) a user deleted all of her userdata.
The server backed up to the USB drive called week 1 overwriting the data that same evening.
So admin changed to disk 2 and carried on backing up every evening.
On thursday 25th they relised that all the data was missing and stopped all backups.
Now, I have the week 1 data and one of the files on there says it was from the 18th. This was the last day of having the correct data. Therfore I thought thumbsup! However when trying to restore with the Veritas backup the catologue file is missing for that day and the software says it cant restore.
Is there anyway to restore the data directly from the data i have and see if i have the correct data?
