version 2.0.2 on the 2g model

Hi , can i use ziphone to unlock a 2 g model with 2.0.2 loaded , i was thinking of trying the "do it all option", thanks in advance

Just use pwnage, you can find guides on www.hackthatphone.com

It's a very easy process and works with 2.0.2. As far as I know zipphone is now dead.

one more question , at some point in the unlock sequence does it ask for a name and password , i have downloaded winpwn 2.5

i was wondering if at that stage it was a way to make you pay for the tool ?? which on the face of it looks freeware

I have only used the mac version, it does ask for your system password at some stage. The pwnage tool is definitely freeware, it will not demand payment. I think it is even against their polict to ask for donations. If you have any concerns about the version you have, then redownload it from the iphone dev teams link, you can find it on their blog here http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

andyr did you jailbreak your iphone initially with ziphone? I want to update my 2g model to 2.0.2 but I read somewhere that as I have jailbroke my iphone using ziphone if anything goes wrong my iphone will be bricked. Is that true? Not too clued up on the iphone hack scene so have no idea whether the site was just spouting BS. Also does the new firmware causing shorter battery life?

i initially used ziphone yesterday but the as the phone was already on 2.0.2 it just sat there in recovery and i used i tunes to recover standard 2.0.2 software, then winpwn did the job ! dont know about the battery life im affraid , doesnt seem too different to me though
