Hi guys,

I have a dilemma.

I'm going to be buying a new gaming chair, hopefully today, and have narrowed it down to the Vertagear SL4000 or the SL5000.
I'm a small guy, 5'6", about 63kg.
I'm leaning more towards the SL5000, even though everyone I've showed comparison photos prefers the looks of the SL4000, but i'm worried about the leg guards running along the side of the base constraining my legs excessively. I don't have big legs, but the 4000 looks much more forgiving in this respect (the 2000 looks even more forgiving, but I need those 4D armrests so the 2000 is out).

Have any of you tried both and have a preference? Do any of you have the SL5000 and find the leg guards restrictive?

The colour is not a consideration as i'd get the SL4000 in Carbon anyway.

I have the 4000, 5ft11 110kg, leg guards never bothered me.

After about 2 weeks of some stiffness in the leather etc it is now very comfortable.

Cheers for that,

Anything from anybody with a frame similar to mine?
Or maybe someone with an SL5000 or who has seen both together?

I bit the bullet and bought the SL5000. Arrives tomorrow, fingers crossed. I'll update with my thoughts.

Would be interested in what you think of it. I'm looking for a new chair as well although was mostly looking at the SL4000 or a dx racer (no idea which).

I purchased the blue sl 4000 and it is such a comfy chair . I love the lumbar support as well . Bit of a sod to get the 4 hex bolts in though when building it ! Ow I am 6ft 3 broad shoulders and have trapped nerves in my back due to disk prolapse so the support and height of the chair are very good .I am very happy with it :)

I'm thinking of getting the SL4000 - though I want it in red and it's out of stock :(
I've recently suffered a disc prolapse leading to a trapped nerve myself so I want a chair with decent lumbar support.

I'm now looking at the SL5000 - will be good to know what you think of it Daymun.

Recently got a SL5000 myself in the last couple of months, lovely chair as regards the lumbar support, its the same as the SL4000 the SL5000 fits me better than the SL4000 I'm 6'2 and 95kg, I just didn't find the SL4000 high enough in the back and could not really lean your head back into it as it was just an inch or 2 short on back height, where the SL5000 meets and exceeds it perfectly.

Only thing I noticed with the SL5000 if you try and move the chair forward if you are not sat right back into the chair, it will tip forward.
