Hey there, I've got an 8 month old iPhone 3G 16GB here and since I updated to 3.0 the battery life is very bad.

MY battery will go from 100% to 90% within 15 minutes, of only listening to music through my headphones. In standby the battery life can sometimes decrease more than 10% per hour with no usage at all. At the moment I can't get a full days use out of the phone with out the battery dying on me.

I'm wondering weather this could be an issue with the 3.0 software?

At the moment I have 3G turned off as I'm on a different SIM card to my Pay Monthly SIM, I also have WiFi turned off, my brightness is around a quarter of the bar and Auto Brightness is turned off. As are push notifications, right now after listening to music for around an hour in total all day and sending around 5 SMS messages my battery dies with in a few hours.

Anyone else having the same issue with their 3G's? Any help is appreciated :).

Well, i charge it when i go to bed, get up and unplug at 7am, 45 mins on the train with music, then 30mins at lunch with music, and then 1 hour on the way home with music. It would be around 80% full by 7pm still.

i have EDGE turned off, but Wifi on.

Battery life on my freshly upgraded 3g with unlock was terrible, but after a couple of recharges it started to improve. If you've unlocked, make sure you've got the latest unlock app as it's more efficient (can't say any more than that due to the rules).

With wifi and push off, I get around 2-2.5 days out of a battery with light call/sms/web usage.

Yesterday I left the phone on charge for around 14 hour and this was from when the phone was totally dead so I guess that counts to a full charge cycle?

The phone is Jailbroken, but I had these problems before I Jailbroke it yesterday. Any ideas what to do?

I'm thinking the best thing to do is ring up apple?
