Hi all,

So i'm new to the overclocking arena and am watching countless youtube clips/ trawling forums but am still nervous to overclock my computer as it's the first one i've built and this isn't particularly my forte...

My Specs are

i5 4690k (stock 3.5ghz)
Gigabyte Z97X - SLI MOBO
GTX 980 ti Palit Super Jetstream 6gb
Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB DDR3 1866MHz
NZXT Kraken X41 liquid cooler
SSD Sandisk 256
Seagate 2tb
NZXT H440 case

I've downloaded MSI after burner, CPU-Z, Intel Extreme tuning utility and the software that came with the liquid cooler (CAM).

I really just want advice on what to change in the BIOS / utilities really to overclock my cpu a bit. My friend ordered his chip in an overclocked bundle to 4.4ghz, so anything up to that much would be great.

It's the voltage ratio to mhz increase that gets me nervous.

Everything runs smoothly at the moment, the liquid cooling fans/ case fans are running in silent mode at 25% and my cpu temps avg out around 24 C for cpu and around 38 for GPU. The core voltage is currently on adaptive (I assume as default as I have yet to change anything). I noticed it fluctuating from 0.7250 V (idle) to 1.0760 during the stress test in intels extreme tuning utility.

The multipliers on the cores in intel say the first two are at 39x, third is 38 and forth is 37. The bus speed ranges from 98-99.98 mhz in cpu-z and the multiplier on the clocks in cpu-z has a range from 8-25x and the bracketed number is (8-39).

What in the BIOS or any of the utilities that I have (or should I use another one) do I need to change. I watch people change settings in videos but don't want to emulate their exact specs in case it ruins my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
