Basically I've had constant problems accessing eBay and Hotmail the last few days.

Today it dawned on me to try and access them on another computer on my network - low and behold it works!

I've cleared all my cookies, temporary internet files, checked for Spyware - but I can't find a sausage wrong! :o

Any clues?

Try clearing ALL browsers cache (not just firefox etc, but IE too). Unless of course you've already done this.

He said another PC on his network is fine, so I'm presuming they're running off the same connection which means that it's not the NTL problem. I was gonna mention it before I noticed that.

Done this, and cleared all cookies.

How about firewalls?
Well I set it to Allow All - but I'm going to completely reinstall it in a minute.

Who is your ISP? I know NTL customers have been experiencing problems recently...
NTL - I knew they had problems, and thought this down to it. But when I loaded eBay on a different machine (on the same network, which is linked (via a Linksys WRT54GS router) to the same cable-modem), that totally threw me. :o

Well just uninstalled the firewall, and browsing the internet without it - still having problems with eBay and Hotmail. :(

Time to reinstall sygate. :o

I would try rebooting, then running ipconfig/ flushdns before trying to reinstall the TCP-IP stuff- Sounds like a simple DNS resolving problem to me. (Quite possibly cached the junk NTL addresses)

Phew, sorted! :D

Ran WinSock XP Fix, rebooted - read leezer3's post, flushed DNS. Tada, it worked!

So not too sure if it was the DNS or WinSock that was the problem - either way, dilema of reinstalling over.:o
