Very frustrated with current options

As a PC gamer I find this to be a frustrating time:

1. I have nVidia trying to fleece me at the top end GPU space and tarting around over Maxwell trying to manipulate the market constantly
2. AMD selling GPUs I don't want, then having to wait for retail channel to flush out the reference 290(x) series not to mention charging more year on year for equivalent models referencing the Titan all the time for value comparisons
3. Intel focusing on mobility sector
4. Display manufacturers taking **** with resolution/refresh constraints above 1080p stifling 27" and 30" displays whilst 4K is years away for those earning under $100K per annum
5. Free2play games costing more than normal retail games
6. Star Citizen promising to me my new gf when the next target is reached
7. Oculus Rift an age away
8. Bezel-less monitors for multi-screen nowhere to be found, large curved displays a thing of the past along with OLED not here
9. Software developers looking at the Tablet platform with big dollars return for low goal investment
10. MP gaming designed for trolls (and you know DayZ will suffer)

I mean ffs where is one supposed to spend hard earned money these days? Or should I just take up drinking, smoking and a guitar and shut up?

Watercool the 290 if you are so inclined, then you'll wonder why you were bothered by stock coolers in the first place

Plenty of ways to waste your money then

I agree though, feels like it's slowed down a bit the past year or so, but then we are reaching limitations of shrinking dyes, so new technology is needed (imo) to push us forward.

In terms of companies not giving us what we want, that's just them trying to get as much money from us as they can
