Is it normal for a PSU to feel quite hot? never touched mine before but had to move couple cables around tonight and when I felt the top the PSU is was very hot..

PSU is Superflower 1000w 80+ platinum.

Depends what loads its been under but most sit between 30c & 50c internally but can exhaust hotter temps ( 60c ) I have the 1200 platinum and must say never felt anything from the chassis nor the vents . But I will bench it for an hour or so later and get back to you seeing as we are using similar PSU's , tbh with it being such a well rated PSU I would have thought it would be uber efficiant in not kicking out to much waste heat

The only time I have ever felt the outer casing of a psu get hot is when my crappy Hiper Type R 580w blew up (literally, big bang and flames and change of underwear time :D). Normally the casing should be cool. What is yours powering and does it have adequate ventilation?

Airflow should be ok, if I remember right that case has a decent size intake for the psu. It's not on a carpet is it? If the psu intake has a filter is it clear? That psu has a hybrid fan mode so is the fan actually kicking in?

Its up on a desk, PSU is in Eco mode am not sure about fan kicking in. PSU filter is clear.. I might try taking it out of Eco mode.
