Hi guys

We have a large community room in the basement. We are after a new large TV.

Must be over 100" TV, doesn't have to be top of the range etc. The bigger the better.

No projector please they are awful.

Which TV would you recommend?

Budget - up to £5k

TIA

Isnt that new TCL supposed to be a great buy? Its "only" 98 inches but can be bought for £1800.

If it has to be bigger then Hisense does a 120" for £3k or maybe a 4K laser Projector?

Thanks I looked at TCL as well but want bigger.

Have not seen Hisense 120" before.

4k throw laser still looks like projector.

Costco have the Hisense 100U7KQTUK for £2.5k - cant see much around bigger than that widely available at the moment?

Yeah, pretty much limited to the Hisense 100E77NQTUK in the UK at the moment.

Anything above that runs into serious money otherwise you'd have to look at a short throw projector which you've rulled out.

TV wise this is next biggest. Nice and cheap haha, not!

I assume your ‘projector is awful’ comment is because you want to view the TV whilst the lights are on?

Because doing a 120-150” screen is easy with a projector, £5k would get a very good one.. There is no way anyone has wandered in my cinema room with 120” screen and said anything other than they are amazed how good it is.. but turn the lights on and it’s ‘awful’..

As for TVs , I can recommend the 100” Hisense as it’s the only one I’ve seen:

100U7KQTUK

£2800..

Would need to up your current budget but Hisense 110UXNQTUK, TCL X955 115", Samsung 'The Wall' (custom sizes).
Alternatively use a project as you'll be able to get a display over 100" within your current budget.
