After a while of playing my PSU makes a very loud rattle sort of sound, I thought surely I'm not the only one so I did some searching and found out I'm not, but for the life of me couldn't find a fix that I'm capable of or didn't involve sending the unit back.

There really isn't a set time or anything like for when it happens, It happens at both heavy and low load even if I've had the pc on for 10 hours or 1 it just starts to make this noise and then it suddenly stops.

So I'm here to ask for help once more.

additional: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-164-CS my power supply. And I will try to get a video of the sound as soon as it happens again next.

are you sure there isn't something caught up in the PSU fan?

otherwise it could be bearings in the fan itself?...

Not sure on it I will take it out and have a look around it when I can get some compressed air cans and if that isn't the case what should I do if its the fan itself? I'm not sure if I can fix that sort of stuff with my hand being held all the way or not...

UK RMA facility has been operational for quite sometime now, so I wouldn't worry about hefty postage fees :)

But before going that route, I'd like to know if OP can maybe post a video where it clearly exhibits the noise. I want to know if the noise is more like a mechanical or more like an electrical.

I don't know what to tell you guys.... its "fixed" apparently the fan was too low and was hitting the metal fan filter at the bottom of the PSU and creating this sounds and then I guess it was 'bouncing' back into place.

Long story short my friend took it apart (voided the warranty) and made a temp fix until I can buy a new one which is coming tomorrow.

and to answer your question, It sounds like plastic hitting plastic until I took the side panel off and then it was clear it was plastic hitting metal.

sorry for the time waste everyone and thanks for the advise and help.
