Very nasty blue screens...

Just built a new comp. When i try to install windows i get nasty blue screens telling me the computer must be shut down etc (i'm sure you know the ones). ANyway the messages have been things like 'page_fault_in_nonpaged_area' and 'irql_not_less_or_equal'

Anyway if anyone knows how to resolve this i would be most grateful as i have a new conroe system waiting and can't get windows to install!!!
spec if needed:

conroe 6300
asrock conroexfire sata2
1gb ddr2
160gb HDD sata being recognised as IDE in boot menu
x800XT gfx

Please help!!!

seems its memory related, what memory are you using?
timings / volts

give memtest a try (is bootable from cd)

how would i boot it from disk? just put the exe on?

edit#just noticed that you have to buy deluxe edition to get bootable version.

Any other ideas?

d/l from here, explains how 2 make on floppy or cd, this runs & checks u ram before going into windows. let it run for a few hrs.

cheers mate. Ill pop it in now. Definately sounds like i have a dud stick of ram though. Can someone confirm what ram i should be looking for for asrock conroexfire esata2 mobo? Im 99.9% sure what i need but you never know...

just got 'pfn_list_CORRUPT' BLUE SCREEN. DOES THIS CONFIRM the problem as dud ram?
