Very odd Audio problem

Recenty i've been getting problems with my on-board audio on my ultra-d, the sound is all clear etc but for some odd reason sound channels are "reversed" things infront of me are really quiet, things at the side/back are loud, ive tried re-installing drivers multiple times, double and triple checked all speaker connections, speaker settings etc and then checked em again and nothing is out of place.

Anyone come across this before, i checked my speaks are working ok by hooking them upto my TV and everything was fine, but sound is still messed up on the pc. Speakers are 5.1 btw.

Just did a windows re-install, still have the same problem. Front speakers are very quiet, rear are very loud, adjusting the volume of either makes no difference, rear speakers still drown out front speakers.

That's a strange one. Especially after a complete re-install

Do you have a basic 5.1 PCI card to test with instead of on-board? This may be a good idea to use instead anyway
