OK firstly I would like to add I am not joking before I start!

I ordered SKY Broadband a few weeks ago. My line was activated on the 11th December and I finally got my Router on the 16th December after some trouble with ParcelForce.

So Tuesday night I connect everything up but I get a DSL problem. After resetting the router everything works OK for the rest of the evening.

Now, yesterday I come home from work, turn the PC on and same DSL issue. I try to reset the router and this time nothing works so I end up ringing SKY Tech support (Hardly tech support imho!).

1 minute into making the phone call the internet starts working and I think typical timing just as I get through to someone the internet works, so I explain what just happend and hang up. 1 minute after hanging up I'm disconnected. I think to myself here that something is very odd here.

I decide to ring back and even if the internet comes back on fine I will explain the issue and hope they don't laugh in my face. Long story short after talking to someone I get a ticket number and am told they will optimise my line which will take 10 days to do and that I should leave my router on for 48 hours AND to expect a phone call within that time.

Fast forward to tonight and as I get home from work I decide that I am going to ring SKY and get this sorted as I can't wait 10 days just for some test to be carried out (As I don't believe it will fix the problem).

HERE is the strange part.

As I use the phone, the internet... comes back ON!!!! So, the internet only works (at the moment) when I am using my phone from the landline, very very odd to say the least! I try explaining this to SKY after being put through to a second person with my ticket ID and he says he has heard of this from 1 other person since he has worked there but he didn't understand it. Then the guy goes into various ways to try and find the problem from my end which I rule all out as I've already tried.. at that point, I'm cut off..... and then my internet cuts off.

Now I have rang a local number (free evenings and weekend package with BT) just to get online and post for some help here if possible.

I have tried looking at my router/network settings and changing one or two things I found online.

I have extracted the user/pass from my SKY router and used my old trusty router with the same result.

I have also tried using the main BT socket here which gave the same result.

I have formatted my PC (I formatted for other reasons not because of this) and I get the exact same issues as I did.

I have come to the conclusion that it is now out of my control and that I need SKY to do something.. but how do I go about this, I have never heard of such a strange problem and I would find it hard being on the receiving end of myself trying to explain this...

Sorry for the long post.
