Very odd XP SP3 network drive behaviour

I have XP SP3 installed. When I go into my computer and try and access one of my three network drives it access's C:\ on my local PC and not the actual network drive. Another drive opens the local CD drive and not a network drive

Whereas if I access from the Windows tree down the left hand side it opens the network drive correctly.

What's going on?
