Very poor net performance on main PC all of a sudden

My main PC is suddenly getting VERY bad net performance (< 10k/s downloads). The laptop which connects wirelessly works fine however.

Main PC is on Vista, lappy on Win 7 RC.

I've updated the Realtek drivers to latest, restarted the router and comp, checked the cable and tried a different socket, yet nothing is working.

No malware on my machine AFAIK and no settings have been changed recently.

Ideas?

Have you checked the network usage in the task manager or performance manager?

have u checked your network cable they don't last for years
well my don't any ways ... maybe i shud make my own
