Very quick OEM cpu question...

Hi,

You can probably guess what I'm going to ask, but... do the OEM A64s have a heatsink/fan included?

I'm looking at the Socket 939 A64 4000+. Retail is £117, OEM is £105. I'm expecting the answer to be no, but I suppose I can just get a AC freezer 64 which I expect will be much quieter and cooler than the AMD cooler.

The OEM doesnt have the heatsink and fan no, and the Freezer is a good choice

Hi there mate, unfortunately OEM cpu do not come with fan/heatsink or box and usually only come with 1 year warranty too.

but i would presume that the articfreezer 64 is a better at cooling than the stock provided with retail packages.

Might pay the retail price just for the extra warranty and then still get a Freezer 64. I dunno though, I've never had a CPU break in 10 years of owning a PC...
