Ok

If I reformat, partition up

C:\ for Windows and D:\ for Games & Programs

By installing games on D, if I then reformat again (bare with me here) - Only installing Windows partition, but keeping Games partition will I have to install the games again for them to work? because would I be right in thinking they are installed?, but wont be in add/remove programs, will they ?

Yes, in most cases you will have to reinstall all of your programmes. I,m not too sure about games but I know that MS office has to be reinstalled. Make sure you save all of your data onto the D drive that way you won't lose any of it if you have to reinstall.

some games will work, some won't. it all depends how much info is written to the windows folder and the windows registry. :)

personnally i don't bother. i always install everything to the same drive as windows. i just make sure i back up all save games etc, before formatting. :D
