Very Serious Menu Problem

On my pc, when I click on any menu, it appears blank until I put my mouse on it, any ideas? Will post screenshots in a minute.

What is your PC spec?

Athlon Xp 2600 (Skt A)
1gb Crucial Value Ram
80gb Maxtor
6800XT
MSI Mobo (MS-6777 i think)

I think my friend accidently switching the pc off a few days ago may have something to do with this, I will run sfc to see if it spots anything.

PROBLEM SOLVED. sfc fixed it, a dll must have been corrupt or something.
