I hope someone can help me shed some light on an annoying issue I have been experiencing.
My main system takes up to a minute to complete the "identifying network" cycle when I start Windows or whenever I disable/enable the NIC.
The system is built around an Asus Rampage IV Extreme.
I have tested the network connection - a powerLAN - by attaching the cable to my laptop. It connects it under a second.
I have updated the BIOS of the board and the drivers for the NIC to no avail.
Any suggestions what might be causing the odd delay?
Once the network is detected, I get excellent speeds and stability.
Setting a fixed IP will prevent the delay at start up, but also seems to lead to occasional disconnects requiring me to disable and re-enable the NIC.
Thanks.
