very slow startup

Is anything else slow, like loading things from your Hard drive? If so that may be you're problem?

Give disk clean up a try first... Then boot back in.

Then see run memtest to see if you're memory is preforming alright.

Then have a look for bad sectors on your HDD using HD tune or something similar.

Or you could try a windows re-install.

Hard drive is fine and also done diskcleanup and defrag - no issues reported.

I think it is one of the progs trying to open on startup that has issues ie system boots and when i look in taskbar it starts loading then hangs for ages, then things like skype, printer and other quickly load up.

How can i view a startup process or identify if it is a prog trying to open that is causing this issue?

(doomedspeed - very apt name for my problem!)

Piriform ccleaner, startup tab. If in doubt, turn it off! You can do this in msconfig but I prefer the ccleaner interface.

How full is the disk? My ssd gets a lot slower as it reaches full.
