Id been have connection problems with my TV - streaming in Amazon/Netflix etc tends to buffer a lot. so I ran a speed test on it and it said i'm only getting 1.7mbps where as on my pc i'm getting 13mbps. TV is close to the router, would test it with a cable but i dont have one long enough. is there anything else I could try to speed it up a bit?

Thanks

My Samsung TV has garbage Wi-Fi as well. I just assume it's corner cutting to hit a price point and use a homeplug adapter.

I switched it on to the 5ghz and it did better in speed test ~7-8mbps but I still got buffering in Amazon, it seems to be fine streaming anything else. anyone else have this problem? with a Samsung TV, seems fairly common with no real solution.

Just buy a longer ethernet cable, heck if you don't want to spend anything ask your IT department at work (assuming you have one etc.) if you can borrow one to test it.

WIFI is convenient but not reliable/fast or great :P Unless you plan on moving your TV around a lot then running a network cable is definitely the best solution. If that's too much effort then you can try a powerline adapter but those need their own socket to get the best speeds so you might need to fork out a little extra for those with the pass-through plugs if you don't have a spare (or just plug in to an extension and see if the crap speeds are ok with you :P)
