Very strange browser issue

Hi there guys,
Having a strange browser issue, certain websites are just refusing to load, for example wikipedia and the telegraph? My internet connection seems to be fine and I have tried with multiple browsers, any ideas? :)
EDIT: hmm just tried to access Wikipedia on my phone.. On the Wi Fi connetion is steadfastly refused to load but as soon I switched off wi fi and went on to orange it worked fine.. hmm

Using Google DNS now on this laptop, wikipedia and other random sites still refuse to loads. I did virus and malware scans overnight with MSE and malwarebyte and nothing has been found
EDIT: It seems to have worked.. a few seconds later and wikipedia seems to be working. How come the default ISP dns servers are broken then?
EDIT2: Just implemented Google DNS on a router wide basis..it seems to be working fine for everyone.
I'm still mystified how Virgins DNS servers have become so messed up.
