How strange...my girlfriend was checking one of her e-mail addresses today and there are 3 order and dispatch confirmation e-mails from a company called Mattress-Man. The billing and shipping address on these in not hers, neither is the name. The shipping is the same on all 3, somewhere in Colchester, but the billing is diffferent on one, but again, not the registered address of my girlfriend.

Any ideas, should we e-mail the company and tell them about this, or use the contact number on the e-mails, again, not hers?

Let the company know. The most likely thing to have happened in this case is that someone made a mistake when filling in their e-mail details and by co-incidence the mistake resulted in your girl friends e-mail.

What is even stranger, 1 mattress @ £1000 ~ and 2 @ £500 ~. The delivery address is next door to a Financial Advisor's in Colchester...Mile End Road.

Yep, I've had something similar but with theatre tickets. The original buyer's name and email address was very similar to mine. I emailed the theatre and they sorted it all out.

Very different name to my girlfriend...Shall E-mail them.

I get these things all the time. I have a fairly common name and I have the gmail address for it, so I get mis-filed email all the time. People accidentally miss out various numbers etc from their address, and things get sent to me.

I've had all sorts of (clearly non-spam) personal messages meant for other people. There are even three families who include my address in their "mail to family" list - all from the US. I've tried emailing back and explaining the error, but I'm still on their list  On the more serious side I've had legal documents and similar sent to me this way.

Anyway - chalk it up to an incorrectly entered email address. Nothing more.
