My PC is acting strange. I can't get it to boot.

It turns on by the back switch and the fans go full blast apart from the fans connected to the motherboard.

I cannot turn off the pc from the power button.

No signal.

Is my motherboard fried?

Does not sound good!

You could try a CMOS reset and also try with minimal components. Do you the full specs of the system.

Ill try the reset later tonight.

pc is pretty old.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
Asus M4A79XTD Evo (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair VX 550W ATX Power Supply (CMPSU-550VXUK)
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

How long ago did it start doing this?

I agree, it doesn't sound good at all. :(

Sunday. What happened was I moved my pc to the other side of the room. Plugged it in, switched it on, boots up, everything is normal.. then I turned it off and then it wouldn't turn back on ok.

I forgot to mention that I plugged in my modem power connector to my usb hub by mistake. My usb hub got so hot it felt like it was going to melt. I think this could be part of the problem.

Anyone know what it could be? I am thinking its probably the PSU.

Another thing, the pc turns on once its plugged into the wall and not from the power button.
